With high winds forecast this week, Pembrokeshire County Council is giving early warning that the Cleddau Bridge could be closed to high-sided vehicles for periods over the next couple of days.

The weather forecast is currently fluctuating but the Authority says that it is most likely that the following closures will occur:

• from 7 pm (although it could be as early as 3 pm) on Tuesday, 16th January, to around 7 am on Wednesday, 17th January (approximate 12 hours duration)

• From 7 pm, Wednesday, 17th January, to around 6 am on Thursday, 18th January (approximate 11 hours duration).

However it should be noted that this anticipated status could change depending on the weather conditions.

With the current forecast it is not expected that the bridge will be closed to all traffic, although this of course cannot be guaranteed.

Any closure may well cause problems during the peak evening and morning rush hours.
