A consultation is to be launched by Pembrokeshire County Council which proposes to discontinue Mount Airey Nursery and Infant School, and Haverfordwest Church in Wales VC School, and to establish a new 3-11 community school using the current school sites and buildings.

The statutory consultation will run from Wednesday February 7 until Friday March 23 2018.

Further information and a response form will be available on the Council’s website at www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/haveyoursay from Wednesday February 7.

Two open public information meetings will also take place on:

• Monday 5th February, 6pm–7.30pm

• Thursday 8th February, 6pm-7.30pm.

Both meetings will take place at the Pembrokeshire Archives, Haverfordwest, SA61 2PE.

Meetings with staff and governors of Haverfordwest Church in Wales VC and Mount Airey CP schools, and with the governors of St Mark’s Church in Wales VA Primary School, will take place before the consultation starts.

Pupils at Haverfordwest VC and Mount Airey will also have the opportunity to participate.

The new consultation follows a preliminary consultation in 2016 on all English-medium primary education in Haverfordwest, comprising the following schools; Fenton Community Primary School, Haverfordwest Church in Wales VC School, Mary Immaculate School, Mount Airey CP School, Portfield School, Prendergast CP School, St Mark’s Church in Wales VA Primary School and Ysgol Gymraeg Glan Cleddau.
