AN INJURED French naval crewmember was medically evacuated from the training ship Lynx by Fishguard's all weather lifeboat on Monday evening, April 16.
The 43-metre French naval training ship made contact with UK coastguard and sought assistance after a female crew member suffered a head injury onboard the ship whilst it was on passage in the St George's Channel.
The Fishguard RNLI's all-weather lifeboat with full crew launched at 7.20pm and rendezvoused with the 340 tonne naval ship outside Fishguard Harbour in the lee of the breakwater.
The injured sailor was quickly transferred and brought back to the RNLI station at 8.15pm where an awaiting ambulance took her to Withybush Hospital.
