Lorry jammed on Tower Hill, Haverfordwest

2:27pm Thursday 2nd July 2009

Tower Hill in Haverfordwest was closed for over an hour yesterday (Thursday), due to a 20 tonne lorry getting stuck on the bend.

"The lorry got into trouble when trying to climb the slippery Tower Hill on a wet road," said an eyewitness at the scene. "The lorry was sliding backwards while its wheels were trying to drive forwards. "Police and recovery teams were trying to work out how to move it without crushing the house behind it." Haverfordwest police confirmed that the road was closed. They said that the vehicle had been jammed on the bend since 1pm on Thursday. Mill Forge Garage were tasked to the scene to help extricate the lorry from the tight bend.
