Runners in north Pembrokeshire are limbering up for a ten kilometre run this weekend, with their eyes on the prize of £74 worth of Celtic Blue Rock tickets.
The Silver Valley run takes place on Sunday July, 5th .
In 2008 over 60 people took part in the run and the event has grown from strength to strength.
Both the main run and a fun run will start from Hermon School Playing field at 11.00am. Both runs are predominantly off road.
The ten kilometre run will take competitors through secluded farm lanes and follow the old railway line to Glogue Quarry, via Llwynyrhwrdd Chapel and then down to Llanfyrnach.
The run will then continue past the remains of the old silver mines and Mansel Davies haulage company, returning to Hermon via Glogue village.
The first male and female runners in all the three categories for the main ten kilometre race . The overall winner will also receive two Celtic Blue Rock Festival tickets worth £74 ( see www.celticbluerock.org for more information).
There will also be an opportunity for secondary school children to run a special class in the fun run as well as under 11s and under sevens races at the playing field site.
