A teenage holiday maker from Sheffield was taken to Withybush hospital yesterday (Tuesday).
The 17-year-old had just come out of the water after a swim on Tenby's Castle Beach when she was taken ill.
She complained of chest pains, blurred vision and ear ache before losing consciousness.
RNLI lifeguards, Geraint Rees and Oli Simon, who were patrolling the beach gave the casualty oxygen when she started to complain of chest pains.
Coastguards and paramedics were called to Castle Beach and helped evacuate the girl to a land ambulance.
She was then taken to Withybush Hospital.
