Woman tells how Facebook entry sparked Spittal kidnap ordeal

A woman has told a jury today how she was kidnapped at knifepoint by a man upset by what he saw on her Facebook entry.

She said she was driven to the kidnapper's home where he stripped her naked and sexually assaulted her.

Then, she said, 45 year old Christopher Fee threatened to kill her and her children.

Fee, now of Hilton House, Mount Estate, Milford Haven, denies kidnap, sexual assault and two charges of sexual assault by penetration.

Giving evidence at Swansea crown court, she said she left work in Haverfordwest on January 3rd. As she unlocked her car Fee ran up to her, jumped into the passenger seat and told her to drive him to his car, which he said was nearby.

But en route he pulled out a kitchen knife and told her to drive to a secluded area near the Air Cadets' building, she alleged.

Once there he pulled her out of the driver's seat and she tried to run off. But he soon caught her and dragged her to his car, she said."I was struggling and screaming for help but he put a hand over my mouth," she added. "He told me to put on a pair of latex gloves but I refused."

The woman said she told Fee her sons would be worried if she was late home and he allowed her to send them a text message saying "won't be long" but only after he had inspected what she had written.

She told how Fee drove her to his then home in the village of Spittal and dragged her into his flat, where he put on the television and turned up the volume.

The woman said Fee was behaving like a Jekyll and Hyde character, assaulting her, apologising and then assaulting her again.

She told the jury he "aggressively" removed her clothing and fondled her intimately. Then he told her to take hold of a glass of Brandy and forced her to touch a worktop in the kitchen.

"He said 'this will show you have been everywhere in the house.'

"He said he had an alibi and I had better not go to the police," she said.

The woman told how Fee said he had seen her profile on Facebook along with a message which suggested she was in a relationship.

"He said it would be a good idea if I took myself off Facebook," she added.

The woman said Fee eventually drove her back to her car, which had been left at the Air Cadet centre. But she was too distraught to drive and telephoned a friend, whose husband took her straight to Haverfordwest police station.

She said she suffered bruising during the ordeal and a slight cut to her hand.

Stephen Rees, prosecuting, said when Fee was arrested he produced a pair of latex gloves from a drawer.

"He had to admit she would not have known he had any unless she had seen them," he added. "She said she had seen him put them in the drawer and that is where they were found."

Mr Rees said that during interviews with officers Fee said the woman had gone with him willingly. They began to kiss and then to have sex. But she suddenly asked him to stop and he did.

The trial continues.
