Police seek witnesses after boat engines worth £40,000 stolen

Police are appealing for help to trace four boat engines, worth around £40,000, which have been stolen from Neyland.

At about 10.25pm on Sunday December 13, at least two people have entered Neyland Marina and have removed two boats from their moorings.

The boats have then been taken up river and at some point have had their engines removed.

Police are appealing for help from the public to try and find out the exact location in the haven where the engines have been removed.

Sergeant Fintan Godkin, of Safer Pembrokeshire, said: "A Boatwatch scheme has been set up in the marina and there are security items such as engine covers which we have for sale for the boat owners.

"We are also using the latest DNA technology to mark engines so thieves need to be warned that we have ways of tracing stolen items.

"We are also warning that Neyland Marina has excellent CCTV, and secure access gangways"

Anyone wanting more information on boatwatch can contact Safer Pembrokeshire via 101.

Police are appealing for witnesses that may have seen anything relating to this incident to contact them.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC45 Dave Reynolds at Milford Haven Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
