It's Question Time for Pembrokeshire's politicians

10:50am Friday 12th March 2010

North Pembrokeshire constituents will get a chance to quiz their prospective Members of Parliament this evening, thanks to Fishguard group, Transition Bro Gwaun.

A Question Time style event has been organized for 7.30pm at St Mary’s Hall, Fishguard.

The declared candidates for the Preseli Pembrokeshire constituency: Stephen Crabb MP (Conservative), Henry Jones-Davies (Plaid), and Mari Rees (Labour) will all attend. The Lib Dems will also send either a candidate or a representative.

The Question Master Canon Jeremy Martineau, who is well known for his work in the local community, will put questions from members of the public to all candidates. Questions can be submitted at Seaways Bookshop; West Wales Arts Centre; Goodwick post office; Newport Eco Centre and the Pebbles bookshop in St Davids.

Transition Bro Gwaun member Chris Samra said: ‘We feel that it is important that people have an opportunity to assess whether their next MP is able to cope with the big issues that will dominate the politics during the next five years and beyond, in particular peak oil and climate change.

"Are the current political and economic institutions up to the job? Come and find out what our would-be representatives think!’ Admission to the event is free but by ticket, which can also be obtained at the above outlets. For more information visit www.transitionbrogwaun.org.uk.
