A young local chef will pit his culinary skills against the best of Britain today (Tuesday) as he represents Wales in the WorldSkills UK final.
Pembrokeshire College student Kristian Fuchs, aged 19, is one of three Welsh representatives in the final in Bournemouth.
The national competition provides an opportunity for trainee chefs to show off their cooking skills to a panel of judges.
If Kristian wins he may be invited to join the UK squad for WorldSkills 2011 in London, where he will be up against the best in the world in his vocation.
The three Welsh chefs qualified for the final after competing in Skills Competition Wales at the Welsh Chefs Conference in Cross Hands last September.
They are being mentored by award-winning chef Nick Davies, a director of Cambrian Training Company and Welsh Meat Online based in Welshpool.
