Health minister to officially open new A&E facility at Withybush

Welsh Health Minister Edwina Hart will today (Tuesday) officially open the new Emergency and Urgent Care Centre at Withybush Hospital.

Mrs Hart said: "This Welsh Assembly Government investment in Withybush Hospital further demonstrates my commitment to ensure there is a long-term future for the hospital.

"This new Emergency and Urgent Care Centre will simplify access to healthcare services for patients and help to reduce waiting times.

"This will mean that patients have access to a range of healthcare services under one roof and will be guided to the appropriate health professional.

"It is hoped that with an increase in the number of assessment and ‘see and treat’ rooms will reduce the number of patients admitted to hospital as they may be treated within the department. This will improve care for patients and reduce pressure on staff."
