Solva’s Parc y Capel Fete will be held on the Village Green on Bank Holiday Monday, and will be opened by former broadcaster Gerry Monte at 1pm.

In addition to all the usual attractions, Milford Town Band, children's' sports, various stalls, coconut shy, ponies, pig roast, teas and cakes, there will be a sheep shearing demonstration and the opportunity to join in the creation of a willow wigwam. The Spinners and Weavers Guild will demonstrate their craft and people can learn how to tie knots and splice ropes.

This year’s competition will be to make an insect between six and and 24 inches long out of any fabric. There will be a mystery prize for the winning insect, following the judging at 4pm.

A snail race is a new addition to this year’s event, and participants can train their own snails or they can be provided for them.

Should the weather be unkind the event will be held in Solva Memorial Hall. Parking has been arranged at the doctor's surgery and at Solva Football Club.
