A 76-year-old man faced with six charges of rape and three of indecent assault, dating back to the 1960s, is due to appear at Swansea crown court today.

Richard Frederick Evans, who now lives in Gwent, is accused of indecently assaulting a girl under the age of 14 in Pembrokeshire between January 1964 and January 1965, between January 1965 and 1966, and between January 1966 and 1967.

He also faces six charges of raping a girl under the age of 16 between 1967 and 1974.

Evans appeared before Haverfordwest Magistrates on January 17th. He did not enter a plea and magistrates committed the case to crown court.

Evans is listed to appear in front of Judge Keith Thomas this morning for a plea and case management hearing.
