Taking steps to help the Pembrokeshire Citizens’ Advice Bureau this weekend is Lorna Sutton of Wiseman’s Bridge.

The former Stepaside and Greenhill School pupil will be running the 2012 Wales Half Marathon on Sunday.

The event starts at Pembroke Castle at noon and finishes at Tudor Square, Tenby, via Freshwater East and Manorbier.

Lorna works as a relationship support manager with Barclays Bank in Cardiff, which has agreed to matchfund her sponsorship money up to £750.

She chose the Pembrokeshire CAB to benefit from her sponsorship as her mum, Hilary, has been a volunteer with them since 2009.

This will be Lorna’s second charitable run – last December, she completed a half marathon in a full Santa suit in aid of Accounting for Africa.

Pembrokeshire CAB manager, Nicola Roguski, said: “I am delighted that Lorna has chosen us as her nominated charity and wish her the very best in her training.

“We provide an invaluable service to the residents of Pembrokeshire and have seen an increase in demand over recent months. I fully appreciate that in the current economic climate people may find it difficult to donate, but the offer of matchfunding by Barclays Bank means that every pound given is effectively doubled.”

Donations can be made at Pembroke Dock and Haverfordwest CAB offices (cheques made payable to Pembrokeshire CAB).
