St Dogmaels Ellie's dream appeal

A St Dogmaels singer and actress is appealing for help in raising £16,500 to help her achieve a lifelong dream.

Ellie Rose has been chosen from more than 3,000 applicants for a place on the masters degree in acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama.

Ellie graduated from Salford University with a first class honours degree in performing arts three years ago. Since then the former Cardigan School pupil has been pursuing a career as an actress, singer and writer.

“I have performed on some amazing stages and with wonderful performers,”

said Ellie. “I have also had my own plays commissioned and performed at venues like The Lowry, Salford Quays.”

Ellie needs to have trained at an accredited drama school in order to audition on national stages.

She has been picked as one of only 30 to train at the Central School, whose alumni include Dame Judi Dench and Christopher Eccleston, and now has until September 1st to raise £16,500 in fees.

“I would like ask any local businesses, or people, with an interest in supporting local talent to donate what they can,” said Ellie.

“I am determined to be a successful actress with dreams of emulating a career like that of Judi Dench, Meryl Streep or Kate Winslet.”

In return for support, 26- year-old Ellie is happy to offer acting workshops, acting classes or singing lessons or to sing at corporate events, weddings or functions.

Her mother Clare, a well known portrait artist whose work sells for up to £2,000, is also offering her services to help raise the fees and will offer a free portrait to the person who makes the highest donation.

“I am even happy to take a loan from someone and pay them back in actual cash after graduating,” said Ellie.

“This is my dream and I want to help myself in every way to make it come true.”
