The mother of the man involved in last week’s 26-hour stand off with police has apologised to the people of Pembrokeshire and promised the truth will be revealed.

Diane Huntley’s son, Max Huntley, appeared at Haverfordwest magistrate’s court on Monday charged with criminal damage and affray. Huntley did not enter a plea. His mother handed the following letter to the Western Telegraph:

“Sorry to all the people in Haverfordwest for the disruption of their work and pleasure on Friday and Saturday.

“People will be updated in due course as to the true circumstances of this situation.

"This happened due to misunderstanding, lack of knowledge of my son’s condition and lack of resources.

“This could have all been avoided and handled in a more appropriate manner.

“People will be updated in due course. I can’t speak out now in case it affects my son’s outcome.”

Diane Huntley,

North Pembrokeshire.
