Coastguards searched in thick fog for a 73-year-old holidaymaker who had fallen and injured his ankle on the coastpath yesterday afternoon (Monday).
The man from Chellaston, Derbyshire, was walking between Newport and Dinas when he fell halfway between the two villages.
Fishguard coastguard managed to locate him despite a thick thick sea fog that had descended on the area.
A rescue helicopter was tasked to the scene but was unable to land due to the foggy conditions. Coastguards treated the man's injuries and then carried him for a quarter of a mile to nearby Ty Cannol Farm.
A land ambulance then took the casualty to Withybush Hospital for treatment.
