FARMERS in Pembrokeshire are being urged to attend a meeting where Bovine TB will be the topic up for discussion.

Cattle keepers will have the chance to discuss and find out more about a wide range of TB-related topics such as risk-based trading, sole occupancy authorities, Cymorth TB, the epidemiology project in Wales, and badger vaccination.

The meeting is being hosted by the South West Wales TB eradication board, which covers Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. Chairman of the board, John Owen said: “This is an excellent opportunity for cattle keepers to come and meet their regional board members and we will endeavour to do what we can for them. This is also an opportunity for farmers to raise TB issues they wish for the regional board to take forward on their behalf.

“I encourage all cattle keepers in the area of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire to attend these meetings. We will discuss issues that matter to the farmers of this area as we work together in the fight against TB.”

The next meeting will take place on February 11th at Wolfscastle Country Hotel, Wolfscastle at 7.30pm. Another meeting will be held at Lletty Parc Hotel, Llanbadarn Fawr, Aberystwyth on February 18th at 7.30pm.

The South West Wales board is one of three regional boards set up by the Welsh Government in 2008 to look at local disease prevention, transmission and TB breakdown management.
