THE 29th Camrose Vintage Working Day offered a packed programme of events for visitors from across the county, and beyond.

Familes flocked to see demonstrations of agricultural skills including ploughing, threshing, sheepdog handling and farriery.

Displays of vintage motorcycles, cars, working stationary engines, steam engines and tractors made the event a feast for the eyes, and a joy for engineering enthusiasts. A range of car boot stalls meant shoppers also had plenty to keep them busy.

The Craft Marquee housed spinners and weavers, woodturners and amazing corn dolly creations, plus treats from Oh Sugarplum!. The queue outside the Refreshment Tent was testament to the quality of the food and drink available inside.

Show Chairman Tony Bevan said this year’s show had drawn a “record crowd”.

“I think people like the atmosphere of the place,” he said. “Visitors come year after year, and some even arrange their holidays so they can attend Camrose Vintage Working Day. We have tried to build the event up over the years, so there is more for people to see. I’m really happy with the outcome.”

Tony added that there would be “something special” to celebrate the event’s 30th anniversary next year.

“We haven’t decided what it will be yet,” he said. “We start preparing for the show in January, so we’ll discuss it then!”
