NFU Cymru members in Pembrokeshire will get the chance to consider Welsh Government proposals on bovine TB and NVZs at a specially convened meeting on Monday, November 14, at Nantyffin Hotel, Llandissilio, 7.30pm.
Welsh Government has recently launched a consultation putting forward a number of new Nitrate Vulnerable Zones (NVZ) designations in Wales.
This includes proposals for ‘Whole Territory’ designation across all of Wales. There are also proposals to designate the whole of the Eastern Cleddau and Western Cleddau catchments which will have significant impacts on farmers in Pembrokeshire and West Carmarthenshire.
The meeting will also consider proposals in the current Welsh Government consultation on ‘Refreshing the TB Eradication Programme’ in Wales, including proposals for a regional approach to tailor different disease control approaches in different areas of Wales.
Walter Simon, Pembrokeshire NFU Cymru County Chairman said, “This meeting is an opportunity for local farmers to seek clarity on Welsh Government’s proposals on both bovine TB and NVZs. It is open to all NFU Cymru members and I do hope we will get a good turnout as views from this meeting will help to feed into NFU Cymru’s consultation response. Please also encourage your friends and neighbours to come along.”
