J. J. Morris reports: Slightly less lambs, but they sold well. Cull Ewes once again were very mixed, as was quality in the calf section.

BJP reports: More store cattle (141) with a complete clear out and good trade. Best price of £710 for Limousin steers, aged 20 months, from Minchin, Manorbier.
Simmental steers (21 months) £705; Belgian Blue steers (20 months) £700; Hereford steers (21 months) £705.
Simmental heifers (22 months) £655; Simmental heifers (23 months) £685; Hereford heifers (19 months) £600.
Cull cows (35): More cull cows with strong, meaty cows selling very well. Best price of £825 for a 685kg Charolais from Rowlands, Folkstone. A Friesian cow weighing 780kg sold for £820 from Richards, Fernhill.
Average price per kilo 98.9p; maximum price per kilo 121p. Average per head £618.
Calves (58): Top price of £202 for a Simmental bull from Luke, Pwlle and best heifer was a Limousin selling to £182 from Johns, Pencnwc.
Whitland
September 9th
J. J. Morris reports: A good entry of lambs (565) with trade in line with national trends.
Top prices: 139ppk, Phillips, Windsor Farm, Lamphey; 138p, Morgan, Myrtle Hill Farm, Cresselly; 137p, Morgan, Upper Bletherston, Clarbeston Road.
Top price per head was £61.60 from Evans, Pitt Farm, Penrice.
Non-approved lambs sold to a top of £47 and to an average of £37.23.
Cull ewes and rams (485): A good entry of sheep with the greatest demand for heavier type ewes, which sold to an average of £40.50. Lighter ewes averaged £18.39. Cull ewes sold to a top of £52 from Owens and son, Glantre, Pontsian and cull rams sold to a top of £50 from Eynon, Plasybedw, Efailwen.
Wethers sold to £35 from Willett, Nant-Y-Castell, Cynwyl Elfed.
Overage cattle and barren cows: Barren cows (34) sold to an overall average of 90.67ppk and a top price of 138ppk from Wilon and partners, Common Church, Pendine. Others: £765, Davies, Hendre, Henllan Amgoed; £765, Wilson and Partners, Common Church; £750, Reynolds, Pantroydin, Llanddewi Velfrey.
Overage steers sold to an average of 128.01ppk and to a top price of 134p from Wilson and partners, Common Church, Pendine.
Fat cattle: A very fast trade with a top price of 159.50p from Merriman, Lower Coachlands Farm.
Heifers sold to an average of 145.72p and steers averaged 143.45p. Heifers sold to a top price per head of £1,020 from Merriman, Lower Coachlands Farm and steers sold to 153.50p from Brodie, Yerbeston Mountain, Kilgetty.
