Farmers in Pembrokeshire are being urged to join a scheme which will help them and the police deter criminals.
The Haverfordwest rural neighbourhood policing team is looking to set up a Farm Watch scheme.
Similar to neighbourhood watch schemes, Farm Watch encourages members of the rural community to be vigilant, pool their inside knowledge and report any suspicious activity to the police.
It is free to join and will help improve communication between farmers and the police in order to reduce the opportunities for crime and vandalism. PCSO Jude Parr said: “Farming is a 24-hour activity and farmers can help us by reporting any suspicious activity so we can investigate and warn other members of the scheme.
“Farmers are often the target of thefts and by joining this scheme they will be making life harder for the thieves.”
Anyone interested in joining the scheme can contact PCSO Jude Parr on 0845 330 2000 or by e-mail at HaverfordwestNPT@dyfed- powys.pnn.police.uk.
