Dai Lewis Auctioneers reports: Another good entry in all sections. New season lambs saw a brisk trade and hoggetts also saw a strong demand throughout. Stores sold to a steady run and culls saw another fast session. Ewes and lambs sold well.
New season lambs overall average 179.7p/kg. Leading prices: 202.8, Wyse, Blaenwthan, Saron, Llandysul; 201.3, 185, Bowen, Brynteilo, Penybont, Carmarthen; 187.5, 182.9, Davies, Cwmcynon, Llwyndafydd, New Quay.
J. J. Morris reports: A large entry of sheep in all sections, with more than 800 hoggets. There was a brisk trade throughout, with ewes and lambs again in great demand.
Calves met a strong trade throughout, with the best peaking at £205 for a heifer calf.
BJP and Co reports: A better entry of store cattle (139) with a 25 month old Simmental heifer selling for £730 from Pearce, The Swallows, Clynderwen. Best steers were 21 month Limousins selling for £690 from Warner, Wood Farm, Newgale.
Friesian steers (21 months) £575; Belgian Blue steers (20 months) £670; Limousin steers (23 months) £638; Limousin steers (24 months) £688; Belgian Blue heifers (18 months) £680; Hereford heifers (25 months) £605; Limousin heifers (25 months) £665; Welsh Black heifers (22 months) £605.
Cull cows (32): Top price of £815 for a non-TB tested Friesian cow weighing 805 kilos from Williams, Pontfaen and 810 kilos, £800, 775 kilos, £730 Luke, Railway Tavern. Maximum per kilo 110p, average 90p.
Calves (36): More calves sold to a maximum of £192 for a Limousin bull from Adams, Little Rathe, Crundale.

J. J. Morris reports: Fat cattle: Six steers sold to 147.50p per kilo for a 775 kilo Charolais from Roberts, Llwyndrissi Farm, Whitland and heifers sold to 145.5p for a 650 kilo Limousin from Merriman, Lower Coachlands Farm.
Overage steers sold to £945 for 745 kilo Limousins from Lewis and Son, Redstone Farm.
Cull cows (17) sold to a very fast trade with a top price of £925 for a 785 kilo Belgian Blue from Howells and Son, Sarnlas. The overall average was 92.06p per kilo or £571 per head.
A 1030 kilo Welsh Black bull from Thomas, Park Farm, Manorbier sold to £1,030.
Sheep section: New season lambs (16) averaged 187.48 per kilo with a top price of £2 per kilo for 30 kilo lambs from Phillips, Deers Park Farm, Laugharne.
Approved hoggetts (1,066) sold to an overall average of 137.19p per kilo and a top price of 172.2p for 45 kilo hoggetts from Windsor and Son, Fforest Farm, Whitland.
The top price per head was £78 for 48 kilo hoggetts from Evans, Cefnhernin, Dryslwyn.
Non-approved hoggetts (86): Overall average 107.78p per kilo (£35.50 per head) with a top price of £45.
Cull ewes and rams (534): Another large entry sold to a very good trade, with a top price of £94 for ewes from Rees, Avola Farm, Red Roses with heavy ewes averaging £54 and lighter ewes averaging £25.
Cull rams sold to £77 from Abbott, North Headborough, Dale Road and averaged £42.70.
Calves: A small entry saw bulls selling to a top price of £74 from Morris, Flimstone Farm, Martletwy and heifers selling to £90 from Rees, Plasbach, Login.
