Go batty in Pembroke Dock

If you would like to discover more about the nocturnal goings on of some of Pembroke's residents then join the team from Pembrokeshire Bat Group and Pembroke 21C on Wednesday September 26th.

The team will be visiting Pembroke Millpond to study the many number of bats that feed on insects above the water. Using bat detectors the detail of the bat's echo-location will be uncovered which will also identify which species are present.

The groups have previously recorded pipistrelle, noctule and daubenton's bats at the Millpond. The event will be led by the chairman of Pembrokeshire Bat Group, Dr Robert Crump, who, along with his colleague David Harries, will be able to explain all about these fascinating animals.

The team have been studying the bat activity at Pembroke Millponds and Holyland Wood for the last two years as part of a three-year project which has been funded by Countryside Council for Wales Species Challenge Fund.

The group will meet at 7.15pm at St Michael's Church, Main Street, Pembroke.
