The save Withybush Action Team (SWAT) is holding two public meetings this week to update the people of Pembrokeshire on the future of health services in the county.
The meetings will be held on Wednesday, February 21st, in Pembroke Dock Town Hall and on Thursday, February 22nd, in St Davids City Hall. Both meetings will start at 8pm and the action group is urging people to come along.
"The hospital as a building looks to have been saved," said SWAT activist Cherie Harvey. "But rest assured SWAT is continuing to monitor the situation.
"We are holding meetings to let everyone know what is happening, what our plans are for the next few months, how the public can help and to answer any questions they may have."
The group is also planning two demonstrations for the month of March: on March 3rd they are gathering outside the hospital at 10am to support a country-wide protest against cutbacks in the NHS. Then on March 6th they are heading up to the Welsh Assembly to take part in an all-Wales protest at Cardiff Bay.
Free buses are being organised and the group will meet at 8am outside the hospital, before marching to the buses at the Picton Centre. They plan to be in Cardiff from 11am to 4pm.
"This will be attended by people from all over Wales," said Cherie "As it was our idea we hope everyone possible will come as we need to keep Withybush at the forefront."
She went on to say it was necessary to keep up pressure on our elected representatives in the run up to the Assembly elections.
"We need to reaffirm their commitment to retaining the present high quality services in Withybush."
Anybody interested in attending the Cardiff Bay demo is advised to call David Williams (01646 695823 or 01467 762400) for more information and to book a place on the bus.
