Yet more fuel has been stolen from vehicles parked in Pembrokeshire.

The victim this time was Silcox Coaches, Pembroke Dock. Thieves entered the company's premises at Waterloo between December 21st and Christmas Eve and stole a large quantity of diesel from unattended coaches.

Since soaring fuel prices hit Britain this kind of theft has become more and more common. In November there was a spate of fuel thefts from lorries parked in the Pembroke Dock area and earlier this month over £180 worth of fuel was stolen from vehicles parked in Tenby's North Beach car park.

In the Narberth area police have warned the public to review security arrangements following a spate of thefts from fuel tanks in agricultural and commercial properties.

Police are asking anyone with information on the most recent theft to contact PC Morris at Pembroke Dock police station on 0845 330 2000.

It really is no reason that because of rising fuel prices, these greedy fiends should go around neighborhoods in the first place to syphon fuel from cars etc, this type of crime usually is seen over by gang or group activity
there are a number of ways to avoid.

1. Use a garage if you have one and
do not park on roadside, if you do
then promote the security of your
fuel access, consult your car maker
who may offer you courtesy locks.

2. Avoid leaving your car for extended
hours in car-parks, always try to
ensure you elect to park your car
in a warden controlled car park.

3. If you can avoid using the car at
night, do so as this is a very
opportunity unlocks for petrol/fuel
stealing.

I hope this will provide useful to readers, and I wish you all "A Happy New Year". God Bless.
