Public warned to keep belongings safe

Members of the public are being warned not to leave their personal possessions unattended: two wallets and an i-phone have been taken in the past week after being left by their owners on shop counters.

On Wednesday May 7th , at 10.15am, a shopper left a wallet containing £250 and an Apple iphone on the counter of the cigarette kiosk in Sommerfield supermarket, Fishguard. When the customer returned five minutes later both items were gone.

In a similar incident in Haverfordwest on Friday, May 10th, a person left a wallet unattended on the counter of the post office in Quay Street between 9.15am and 9.30am. The wallet was missing minutes later.

Anybody with any information about the stolen items or who saw them being taken is asked to contact Fishguard or Haverfordwest police station on 0845 330 2000.

WEBSITE COMMENTS

The Western Telegraph website hosts comments on stories on the basis that we expect readers to respond, if they wish, with civil and rational argument.

We do not respond when we are attacked because people have a right to express opinions on our work, whether we think they are fair or not.

But some contributors seem to think our website gives them a free opportunity to unleash personal insults against individuals. This is unnacceptable and, although the site is unmoderated, we will remove such comments at the first possible opportunity.
