The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall are planning to visit a north Pembrokeshire woollen mill this month.

Solva Woollen Mill is expecting a visit from Prince Charles and Camilla on June 23rd The mill, run by Anna and Tom Grime, is currently weaving rugs for the Prince's Carmarthenshire home, and a unique creation started work on the looms this week.

The Prince has ordered three woollen floor rugs from the mill, two in traditional welsh check design, and one will be dyed in a colour of his choice.

The mill, which is one of only two remaining woollen mills in Pembrokeshire, received a letter of congratulation from the Prince last year as it celebrated its centenary.

It is now hoped that he will be able to see the restored water wheel in action, and watch one of his rugs been created.

The visit is part of the royal couple's five week tour of Wales, and they are also believed to be planning a visit to St Davids cathedral as part of their Pembrokeshire trip.

Anna said: "We're absolutely thrilled. He was very keen to come here and see what we do."

She added: "For him to come to see our little mill is unbelievable. It's really exciting. I'm over the moon."

When finished the rugs will be taken to the Prince's first ever welsh home, on the 192 acre Llwynywormwood, near Llandovery.
