Police in Pembroke Dock are urging the public to be on their guard following a spate of scam lottery letters sent to residents in the area.
The letters tell people that they have won money on various lotteries and ask them to either send money or provide bank details in order to collect their winnings.
"These letters are scams and you will lose money if you get involved," said PC John Morris of the neighbourhood policing team.
"You have not been personally chosen, you are just one person out of thousands contacted by the fraudsters."
He reiterated that people should only reveal their bank details if they are completely confident in the integrity of the recipient.
