Police object to Tesco alcohol application

11:43am Wednesday 9th July 2008

Police have made a technical objection to the granting of a new premises licence to Pembroke Dock's Tesco stores which will come before the County Licensing sub-committee today (Wednesday).

The official police response to the superstore's application is that Tesco has omitted to state on their application form that they were prepared to promote the four licensing objectives of prevention of crime and disorder and public nuisance, protection of public safety and protection of children from harm.

Tesco's application is to supply alcohol 24 hours a day seven days a week.
