Dear editor - It's no surprise Pembroke Dock Town Council have decided to sit on their hands over the Martello Quays development.
The need to provide a lead in creating momentum is shameful.
There are no guarantees in regeneration projects, but no-one invests vast sums of money unless they believe in a successful outcome.
To date, investment has been made in the restoration of important buildings in the town and a business park and the Technium Centre have been built.
The infrastructure for further development is coming together. But where is the quality of life that will attract those who are to generate the wealth: shops; cinemas; cafés; sports leisure facilities and quality housing developments?
Most of this is on the table, but the town council have decided to speak for all of us by dithering.
The youth of Pembrokeshire will continue to ebb away to seek fame and fortune elsewhere and those of us left will become increasingly dependent shopping trips to Carmarthen and Swansea, putting little back into our own community.
