ST David’s Cathedral is holding a three day Patronal Festival to celebrate St David’s Day.
On Saturday, March 1 a pilgrims walk will take place, led by the Dean of St Davids, the very Rev’d Jonathan Lean.
It begins at 11.15am at the ruins of St Non’s Chapel and will continue to Oriel y Parc for the illumination of the St David’s Day Stone.
The walk will then carry on to the Cross Square for the Bishop’s blessing of the city, and will conclude at the cathedral.
On Sunday, March 2 a Choral Eucharist will be take place in the cathedral, starting at 11.15am. The preacher will be the Rev’d Canon Sarah Geach.
Later that evening, at 6pm, the Stations of St David service will be held. It will see people join together to celebrate the life of St David through music, readings and meditations. The service will include a procession to the Shrine of St David.
On the final day, Monday, March 3, there will be a schools service at 10am, led by Canon Dorrien Davies. It will be attended by the pupils of Ysgol Bro Dewi and Ysgol Dewi Sant.
Then at 4pm, a talk will be held by Ted Harrison, who is a writer, artist, broadcaster, and theologian. His works will be exhibited in the cathedral until Monday, April 21.
Throughout the festival Tyr Perein will also be holding pilgrimages around the cathedral, with all visitors invited to join in.
