THE sun shone on Cosheston’s annual festival of music and dance on Saturday, July 5.

The festival was arranged by Cosh Call Out Good Neighbours Scheme and included a packed programme of events.

The Vagrants Crew led a procession from the village centre to the marquees at the playing field.

Cosheston WI provided a delicious selection of cakes, tea and coffee, which raised £490 for Breast Cancer Care.

Entertainment included music from the One Voice Choir who performed an unaccompanied selection of songs from around the world, followed by the delightful solo voice of Lucy Jones. An hour of classical excerpts was provided by the excellent Penfro Minstrels strings ensemble.

There was an energetic rounders tournament and plenty of activities for the children, including face painting, colouring tables, boules and juggling. Amber Rich led a Zumba session and a street dance workshop was held by Arts Care.

The evening culminated in style with The Review band taking to the stage.

The committee would like to thank Valero and NFU Mutual whose generous donations helped to fund the event and to everyone who made the day so successful.
