GREENACRES Animal Rescue Centre is making a noise it hopes will be heard way beyond Pembrokeshire.

Faced with rising costs and an ever increasing demand for its services, volunteers and supporters of the Talbenny-based centre are working tirelessly to make ends meet.

Last month an expatriate country rock musician stepped in to help with the fundraising efforts.

Chris Cuthbertson, who lives and works in Texas, took a break from recording his third album to write and produce a charity single for Greenacres.

It was produced and recorded at Willy Nelson’s famous Pedernales Studio in Austin.

Chris said: “It was written from the heart. It’s such a good song, but you might need your hanky handy.”

Mikey Lawlor, the manager of Greenacres, said: “We expect to help, heal and re-home almost double the number of animals that we did last year.

“Every penny we can raise is valuable so when this opportunity came up we were delighted and we are really hoping that our online friends will spread the word.”

The single called All alone (rescue me) is now available worldwide on all major download sites including iTunes, Amazon and Spotify with every penny of every download and all royalties going to Greenacres.
