THE local community came together to give Orielton School an end of year spring clean recently.

A team of Valero volunteers lent a hand after the school council wrote to the Pembroke Refinery to ask for help.

Pupils - past and present - school staff, governors and parents worked alongside the Valero volunteers to give the school’s outdoor areas a tidy and a paint.

Teaching assistant Ceris Hay said: “Orielton School has really strong community links. I would like to say a big thank you to Valero for its continued support of our school.

“The local farming community always comes up trumps when we have work like this to do too, so another big thank you to Dave Llewellyn for bringing his tractor and trailer along.

“The children are thrilled with the results and can’t wait to come back in September”.
