NARBERTH Civic Week is currently in full swing with dozens of action-packed events for all the family in and around the town.

Opening with its traditional civic parade, the week has already seen favourites such as the car treasure hunt, ‘wet ‘n’ wild’ and senior citizens' coffee morning being enjoyed.

Today (Wednesday) will feature the baby show and hilarious antics of the pram push, while tomorrow (Thursday) is ‘hat day’, with people not suitably attired being warned to look out for the Hat Police.

The pet show and children’s sports; terrier racing and tag rugby are among the highlights of Friday (July 25), while Carnival Day takes place on Saturday (July 26).

With a prize of £500 for the best overall float and a total of £540 prize money in the other classes, there is sure to be keen competition for honours in the parade, which gets underway at 2pm. There is no charge to enter the parade.

The Civic Week brochure, which lists all the daily events, is available from Costcutter, Nobles, Landsker Stores and Davies Daihatsu Garage.
