PEMBROKE Dock Town Council has a new recruit.

Gordon Goff, 48, a CCTV operator at Tesco Haverfordwest, is the new town councillor for central ward where he lives with his partner, Beverly Williams.

After spending 10 years in Cardiff, Gordon returned home to Pembroke Dock a couple of years ago.

“It’s time to give something back to the town,” he said. “I wanted to get involved in the town council to see what I can do to help.

“I want to make everyone proud and happy to be walking through Pembroke Dock, and I want to tackle any concerns the residents of central ward have.”

Cllr Goff grew up in Pembroke Dock and he went to Llanion primary school before it moved to Argyle Street, and later attended Pembroke Comprehensive.

“My message to people is that if they have any problems I’m always available,” he said.

“If there’s anything they want come and see me, and I will always do my best to help.

“Given the link Pembroke Dock has with the armed forces and the fact it’s celebrating its 200th birthday this year, I feel privileged to have grown up here. There’s such a strong sense of community.”

Cllr Goff took his declaration of office at the town council’s July meeting. Pembroke Dock mayor Cllr Pam George welcomed him to the council and he was introduced to other members.

In his spare time, Cllr Goff likes to socialise, doing crosswords and Sudoku, and walking.

Kate Becton, the previous member for central ward, stepped down last October as she was moving away from the area.
