ONE of the world’s top racing cars – an Aston Martin GTE - wowed staff at Valero Pembroke Refinery during a recent visit.
Capable of reaching 100mph in just over four seconds, the Aston Martin GTE – sponsored by Valero at racing events across the globe – recently appeared at Le Mans, Silverstone.
Last year it won the six-hour FIA World Endurance Championship Race in Austin, Texas.
Co-driven by former Williams F1 driver Bruno Senna, nephew of the legendary Ayrton Senna, the car is a V8 Vantage GTE Pro car, built and run by Aston Martin Racing (AMR).
Valero public affairs manager Stephen Thornton said: “We are proud to associate our brand with AMR’s high quality racing team and it is fantastic that we have been able to bring this amazing car to the refinery.”
The car costs more than £500,000 and is capable of reaching more than 180mph. It was a major attraction at the refinery last Monday (July 22) and Tuesday (July 23).
