FISHGUARD Library promises to be a lively cultural hotspot on Bank Holiday Monday (August 25).

As well as hosting some fantastic music from the town’s 11th Aberjazz Festival, there will be exhibitions, a talk on the Last Invasion of Britain, and more.

The Aberjazz musicians are playing between 12pm and 3pm in the Library, and all are welcome to come and listen.

They are: Allspice – a local four piece harmony band featuring guitar, ukulele and the four voices of Pam, Liz, Alice and Gemma with a diverse mixture of styles and songs; The Blues Duo - charismatic bluesmen Tommy Allen and Johnny Hewitt both with a passion for the music and soul of the 1940s and 50s blues, joining the sounds of killer harp and deep Chicago guitar; David Pepper and Friends. An excellent pianist, David is usually to be found at Pepper's Cafe and Pepper's Aberjazz Club. He'll be playing with a group of friends.

A new exhibition, entitled ‘The Commencement of the First World War’ will be available to view in the Library’s Art gallery between 10am and 4pm.

The internationally renowned Last Invasion Tapestry Gallery will also be open, with tea and cakes for sale from 12pm onwards.

Local historian Richard Davies will be giving a talk entitled ‘The Story of the Last Invasion of Britain’ at 2.30pm, and the Tourist Information Centre will have tapestry-related merchandise for sale.

Plus, the Library will be open for borrowing between 10am to 4pm with all the usual facilities including free internet access.
