ON Tuesday, September 9, the St David's Historical Society is holding a 'Scan Day'.
Members are inviting anyone living in the city or surrounding areas to come along to the Memorial Hall between 10am and 4pm, and to bring any old photos or documents they may have, dating from before the Second World War.
Photos could be of people, places, groups or buildings. Any information regarding dates, names and places will be invaluable.
These can then be (with permission) scanned onto computer and added to the society's already considerable archive of old pictures.
Participants will then have their originals back and, if they bring a memory stick or flash drive they can take away a digitised copy too, which could be given to other members of the family.
Tea and coffee will be served throughout the day.
At the November meeting of the society, some of the scanned pictures will be shown and along with others will figure in the ongoing story of “Old St David's in Pictures”.
