BOTH of St Davids lifeboats had to stop their training exercise on Sunday, September 14 and go to the assistance of a swimmer at Newgale Beach.
Once on scene St Davids inshore lifeboat came alongside the female swimmer who was on a body board. She informed the crew that she was just enjoying the sunny day and did not require any assistance.
Shortly after, the lifeboats received reports of a rib which had suffered engine failure and was at risk of going into the rocks at Solva. It had four people on board.
The all weather lifeboat took it under tow to the entrance of the harbour and the inshore lifeboat towed it back to the quay wall.
