The iconic clocks on St David’s Cathedral have been beautifully restored, thanks to a well-supported fundraising appeal.

Last week, some brave members of Cathedral staff were invited to make their way up the scaffolding to get the first glimpse of the restoration project.

Earlier this year the Cathedral launched its ‘lend a hand’ appeal in a bid to raise the £150,000 needed to restore each of the three clock faces on the cathedral tower, including the Roman numerals and the golden clock hands.

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority donated a lump sum of £37,500, while St Davids City Council contributed £1,000.

However the appeal still has some way to go towards reaching its target. To make a donation visit the homepage on the St David’s Cathedral website.
