THE Mount Post Office will be open twice as long from next spring, when the branch undergoes a makeover as part of a nationwide modernisation programme.
The branch, which is based at the Premier store on the Mount Estate, will be open an extra 38 hours a week.
The new hours will be 7am until 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday, and 8am until 6pm on Sunday.
The changes, which are expected to take place in March 2015, will see the branch closed for a few days while work is carried out.
During this period customers can access services at any Post Office branch, with the closest being the branch at Spar, on Charles Street.
