LOCAL MP Stephen Crabb welcomed students from Ysgol y Preseli to Parliament on Tuesday, March 17.
The year nine students were in the capital for the UK to compete in the national finals of the Coca-Cola Real Business Challenge, after winning the regional heat.
Accompanied by their history teacher Aled Rumble, they went up against ten other schools from across the UK as they showcased two business ideas to a panel of judges.
Afterwards the group was met by Mr Crabb at a reception in Parliament as they presented their business plan to promote Special Olympics Great Britain, a community sport programme for people with learning difficulties.
Speaking after the event, Mr Crabb said:“I was incredibly impressed by the students’ business plan to raise funds for Special Olympics Great Britain. Their innovative campaign demonstrates their entrepreneurial skills and creative abilities.
“These students should be very proud of themselves to have won a Wales-wide competition and I believe they are real contenders for the UK award too. They are already showing the potential for great business careers in the future and I wish them every success in the UK final. It is great to see Pembrokeshire schools helping to set the standard nationally.”
