PEMBROKESHIRE County council has removed the carousel at Trafalgar Road Park after it was damaged by vandals.
The play equipment’s three seats were broken in the incident, and the Council deemed it unfit for use. The cost of the damage has been estimated at £1200.
The loss of the carousel is a blow to the Trafalgar Road Park Project, a group set up by local mum Nerys Butland to improve facilities at the park.
“It’s a shame this has happened,” said Nerys. “I don’t know if people realise that I’m trying to make a better park.”
To find out more about the project, visit www.trafalgarroadpark.co.uk or search for the group’s Facebook page.
Anyone with information regarding the vandalism is asked to contact Haverfordwest Police Station by calling 101.
