A WEEK of outdoor pursuits to boost confidence and leadership skills has been enjoyed by six students from Pembroke School.

The students were chosen by Pembroke Rotary Club following the interview of numerous candidates.

The young leadership course was this year held at a new venue at Storey Arms close to Brecon Beacons, with a new district co-ordinator, Rotarian Jeff Hobden.

Activities during the week included abseiling, caving, orienteering, gorge walking and kayaking. The students were divided into groups and everyone had an opportunity of leading their groups.

Last Thursday the six students attended the Rotary Club's weekly lunch at the The Court Hotel, Lamphey and were presented with their certificate of achievement.

Each pupil gave an excellent presentation of their experience at Storey Arms, coupled with their gratitude to Pembroke Rotary Club for their sponsorship.

John Jones of Pembroke School also thanked the Rotary Club for its continued support.
