A FUNDRAISING walk organised by Pembroke Dock Mayor Peter Kraus in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society attracted an impressive 32 walkers, raising more than £700 for charity.
On Sunday, October 11, Cllr Kraus invited people to come along to Stackpole Estate and take part in the walk, as part of his £10,000 fundraising pledge during his year of office.
To his amazement, 32 walkers joined him at the main car park at the Stackpole Centre at 10.45am, where they were joined by guides Jim and Marilyn Bebbington and Vikki Jarmin, starting the walk at 11.10am.
“It was fantastic and the scenery was stunning, it is nice to have such fantastic places to go and enjoy yourself; where would we be without the National Trust,” said Cllr Kraus.
When the walk finished, the National Trust laid on refreshments for everyone and they didn't last long with such big appetites.
Cllr Kraus added: “Altogether it was a fantastic turn-out, and a massive £730 raised, with still more to come in, thank-you everyone for all your support for this worthwhile charity.”
