A NEW war memorial plaque took pride of place in New Hedges Village Hall during a service of remembrance on Armistice Day, November 11.

The plaque was unveiled by the chairman of St Mary Out Liberty Community Council, Councillor Des Brace in memory of Ivor Brace, Stuart Richards, Geoffrey Badham, Bernard Badham, William Way and Bernard Skelly from the Royal Australian Air Force.

A large number of local people attended the service and the Act of Remembrance was conducted by the Rev John Morgan, who was recently appointed as the resident clergy to St Anne’s Church, New Hedges.

The Royal British Legion was represented by Tenby branch president Gordon Prime, with the Royal British Legion standard carried by branch colleague Chris Morris, together with Dennis Goldsworthy from the Royal Regiment of Wales.

Wreaths were laid by Councillor Brace and by Russian Convoys veteran Gerry Price.

Refreshments were provided by the ladies of the New Hedges Village Hall management committee.
