MAYOR of Pembroke Pauline Waters and Councillor Aden Brinn made an official visit to the Regimental Headquarters of the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards at Wellington Barracks in London recently.

Cllr Brinn is an Honorary Life Member of the Welsh Guards.

This year the regiment is celebrating its centenary, and to commemorate the anniversary, Cllr Waters presented a rose bowl on behalf of Pembroke Town Council.

Pembroke has a very strong relationship with the regiment since the freedom of the town was conferred upon the Welsh Guards on March 15, 2006.

Cllr Waters presented the rose bowl to the Regimental Adjutant Welsh Guards, Colonel Tom Bonas.

Following the formal presentation at Wellington Barracks, Colonel Bonas hosted a lunch at the Cavalry and Guards Club in Piccadilly.

Cllr Waters felt honoured and very appreciative by the warmth of their welcome and the visit to Wellington Barracks.
