THE Pembroke Dock Branch of the Royal Engineers Old Comrades Association recently made a generous donation to the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre.
President Dennis Taylor presented a cheque for £500 to assist the Centre with projects and in recognition of the long Sunderland flying boat connection with the town.
The Royal Engineers Association has assisted local organisations in the past and hope to do so in the future.
In thanking Mr Taylor and his colleagues, Gareth Mills, chairman of the Sunderland Trust, said: “The Royal Engineers regiment has contributed in a major way to the military story of Pembroke Dock and we intend to recognise this in our future displays at the Centre.”
